Telecommunications

In telecommunication applications composites provide perfect solution through features like weather resistance (low CME and CTE), stiffness, weight savings (30-80% lighter than AL) and good di-electric properties (low loss tangent). These features allow antenna manufacturers to feel safe and confident that antennas performance is constantly on the level that network operators need.

Telecom Towers
Innovations have led to development and manufacturing of FRP telecom towers offering various adavnategs over prevailing MOCs, such as ease of installation ,competitive economics, longevity and environment friendly. Arvind’s quest for newer areas has drawn them to develop complete FRP structure for telecom towers ranging from 12m to 50m. These FRP towers have high strength to weight ratio compared to towers made from conventional materials. Optimised design redcues the section weights thereby reducing the overall weight of the tower. These towers offer ease of installation and holes can be drilled on-site, by using hgh speed twist drill bits. Towers are designed and tested to meet all industry standards. Expected life span FRP towers canbe as high as 80 years with zero maintenance costs.

Antenna Radomes
An antenna cover must provide protection of the antenna from the environment, without impairing its ability to operate radio waves. For modern antennas the cover must also carry mechanical loads. The excellent electromagnetic properties and mechanical strength of glass fibre composites is the perfect choice. Arvind’s pultrusion expertise makes it possible to manufacture profiles less than 2.5 mm thin without compromising on the UV, mechanical, electrical, weathering properties of the product.

Applications:
  • GSM and UMTS antennas and other new advanced antenna solutions
  • Sector and Omni-antennas
  • Antenna tubes (cylindric and conical tubes)
  • Flat profiles and solid rods for tilt rods
  • Machining facilities, e.g. drilling
  • Post treatment and marking

Important Properties include:
  • Excellent electromagnetic properties
  • Low thermal sensitivity
  • High strength and stiffness
  • Low weight
  • Good resistance to weathering and UV
  • Excellent surface quality
  • Low maintenance
